Shahid and Kareena who ended their relationship on a bitter note after Jab We Met, have finally started to talking to each other once again. Thanks to Karan Johar's 'peacemaking' skills the duo were seen exchanging pleasantries and having a conversation that lasted quite a while.

Police bolster protection services

Police in KZN have created a news policing unit to protect and escort soccer teams and players teams and players during the 2010 World Cup.

The Protection and Emergency Services (PES) have recruited 40 experienced police officers from various stations to bolster the unit.

MNIK becomes higgest Bollywood grosser in Britain

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's new movie 'My Name is Khan' has become the most successful Bollywood film in British box office history.The film garnered 887,198.98 pounds (Rs.64.4 million / $1.4 million) in its opening weekend.

The movie shot to number six in the British box office countdown, making 'My Name is Khan' the highest grossing Bollywood film opening ever in Britain.

Storm ravages city

Clean up operations have begun to repair the damage caused by Tuesday night's storm, which left homes flooded, shacks destroyed and road surfaces cracked.

The storm is believed to have started is belived in the Giant's Castle area of the Drakensberg and headed for the coast. Hill crest, Pinetowm and Durban were the three worst hit areas.

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta pulled off a stunt by jumping off the wall of a toilet at the Delhi airport after she got stuck inside for more than 10 minutes. "Spent 10 minutes stuck in the toilet at the airport...Finally had to climb the wall and jump over... People were calling out my name," Preity posted on her Twitter page Tuesday.

The 34-year-old says she felt she would die in there, but managed to escape.

"Imran gifted her a red Beetle as her engagement present. He got the car from Europe and was at it for a month and a half," a close hand informs.

Preity Zinta has been off the Bollywood radar for a long time as she was preoccupied with the Indian Premier League (IPL) and a management course at Harvard Business School in the US. She has reassured fans she will be seen in a whole lot of movies in 2010.

"Guys I am back in business. Its nice to be back after a freezing New Year. Well my New Year resolution is to work in more films, work out five times a week and learn how to drive in Mumbai traffic," Preity posted on her Twitter page.

Who says acting is easy? Not when you have to carry a boy weighing 45 kgs on your shoulders. Just ask actress vidya Balan, who had to go through the exercise for her film “Paa” and ended up falling.

“In a scene, Vidya had to shoot with a child who is playing the younger version of Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Paa’. The scene required Vidya to carry him on her shoulders,” said a source.

“Vidya weighs 45 kgs and so did the boy. Vidya carried him on her shoulders nevertheless.

Crocodile gets snappy with local farmer

A Reservior Hills vegetable farmer had a close encounter with a two metre crocodile when he was attending to his herbs last week in his farm situated along the banks of Umgeni river near Siripat Road.

Nivash Dhookran told the Weekly Gazette that the crocodile was well camoufalged in his garden and that he had not seen it untill opened its mouth to grab hold of him.

"I had just cut some herbs when i heard a roar. In an instant his big mouth with teeth snapped infront of me. I ran for my life to call for help," said Dhookran.

The Miss World Charity Dinner will bring all 120 finalists to London for a night of International fundraising. From there all the contestants will be going to Abu Dhabi for the next round of events, prior to coming to South Africa.

Hrithik to play Leonardo's role in 'The Departed' remake

According to the latest buzz Vishal Bhardwaj is gearing up to bring a remake of Academy Award winning movie, ‘The Departed’. Hrithik will be playing the character played by Leonardo Di Caprio in the English version.

The movie being a dark thriller will be shot at an apt location in Mumbai. And just like Leo, Hrithik will play an undercover cop in the movie.
